KANPUR, India — A man in northern India has been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the world’s longest ear hair.

The tufts coming out of the man’s ears measured more than 5 inches when he set the record in 2003.

The hair has now grown to nearly 10 inches.

In fact, the hair is so long he has to shampoo and comb it.

He was granted a certificate from Guinness to certify him as the record-holder.

However, he complained that too many people consider his feat foolish and said the Indian government isn’t treating him with the respect he deserves as a world record-holder.

tuttgart, Germany (dpa) - An artificial tornado in Germany’s Mercedes-Benz Museum was recognized Monday by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s tallest man-made twister.

The air swirl, created by air jets in the multi-storeyed gallery of the remarkable spiral building, does no harm. In fact it was installed to save lives if fire ever breaks out.

The museum, devoted to the history of Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks, opened in May 2006 and has been seen so far by 1.3 million tourists in the city of Stuttgart.

Testers from Guinness, a British-based publisher, confirmed the museum’s tornado was 34.43 metres high.

高さ34.43mの人工竜巻を発生させるには、144個のノズルで28トンの空気を吸い上げているのだとか。

“This was certainly one of the more spectacular world records that I’ve been invited to adjudicate on,” said Chris Sheedy, a representative for Guinness World Records.

A man from West Sussex has claimed to have set a new world land-speed record for a jet-powered street luge.

Joel King, 27, an IT worker from Bognor Regis, clocked an average speed of 112.7mph (181.4km/h) on a disused runway in Woodbridge, near Ipswich.

He described the luge as like a modified skateboard, on which he lies face up just 2in (5cm) off the ground.

Mr King said his speed was recorded by an expert but still had to be verified by Guinness World Records officials.
