The Fang in Vail (Colorado) is a world famous ice pillar that forms on exceptionally cold winters. Then, when the weather drops, these cascades turn into a giant pillar of ice: a 50 meters high column and about 8 meter large at the base.

Climbing these ice waterfalls at Vail can be extremely dangerous. Adrenaline courses through the bodies of climbers as they look, necks craning, to the lofty heights of a frozen waterfall.

In January 2007, Wim Hof ran a half Marathon (21 km) above the polar circle in Finland. He wore only a pair of shorts and no shoes. The ground (snow) temperature was 35 below.

Wim Hof is commonly nicknamed Iceman. He holds nine world records including a world record for longest ice bath. In 2007, he attempted, but failed, to climb Mount Everest wearing nothing but shorts. He plans another attempt in 2008. He broke his previous world record by staying for 1 hour and 12 minutes immersed in ice outside of the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City on Saturday January 26, 2008.

Movie stuntman Steve Truglia, 40, will jump from a hot air balloon 24 miles up on the edge of space.

That is three times the cruising altitude of a Jumbo jet. Only a Space Shuttle flies higher, shedding its rocket boosters at 150,000ft.

He will freefall for seven minutes before opening his parachute, and could break the 770mph sound barrier as he hurtles towards the ground. No human has ever travelled at such a speed outside an aircraft — and Steve has no idea how his body will react.

元SAS軍人でスタントマンの Steve Truglia(40) が、高度12万フィート（36,576m）からのスカイダイビングを計画しているというお話。

ちなみに現在の世界記録は、1960年に米国空軍の Joseph Kittinger によって記録された高度10万2千フィート(31,089.6m)とのこと。
