It may look insane, but the guy at the picture is not a Photoshoped silhouette placed over a fake landscape. He’s swimming at the Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool at the very top of the Victoria Falls, at Zimbabwe, with a height of about 100 metres.

Somewhere in Russia where it is so cold that some parts of the sea is frozen. The waves aren’t entirely frozen since it would literally take a huge drop in temperature while the waves are forming to create something like that.

ALETSCH GLACIER, Switzerland (Reuters) - Hundreds of people posed naked on Switzerland’s shrinking Aletsch glacier on Saturday for U.S. photographer Spencer Tunick as part of a Greenpeace campaign to raise awareness of global warming.

Tunick, perched on a ladder and using a megaphone, directed nearly 600 volunteers from all over Europe and photographed them on a rocky outcrop overlooking the glacier, which is the largest in the Alps.

Later he took pictures of them standing in groups on the mass of ice and lying down. Camera crews were staged at five different points on the glacier to take photographs.

The Taklimakan Desert in northwest China is a vast region of sand desert sitting in a depression between two high, rugged mountain ranges.

The Taklimakan’s rolling sand dunes stretch out over about 125,000 square miles in the Xinjiang region of China. The desert is hemmed in to the north by the Tien Shan Mountain range and to the south by the rugged Kunlun Mountains.
